Wild Words – Baroness Barbara Young – 10 December 2016
Following on from the tremendous first debate we are pleased to announce the next Wild Words will be held on Thursday 10th December at the Anteros Arts Centre and we are delighted that Baroness Barbara Young will be speaking on the subject and setting the scene for the discussion that follows. The debate will look at the link between ‘Health, Well-being and Nature’.
Baroness Young was CEO of the biggest health authority in London before moving to become CEO of the RSPB, Chair of English Nature and CEO of the Environment Agency. She has also been chair of Cambs Wildlife Trust and the British Trust for Ornithology, and is now CEO of Diabetes UK. With all of this experience and knowledge she will, no doubt, be a challenging and thought provoking opener to the discussion.
Your hosts will be Wild Words and the chair for the evening will be Professor Tim O’Riordan. Professor O’Riordan is Emeritus Professor of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia. He received an OBE in 2010, is a Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Norfolk, served as Sheriff of Norwich 2009-10, and is a Fellow of the British Academy. Professor O’Riordan was also a Sustainability Commissioner and core member of the Prince of Wales’ seminar on Business and the Environment.
The Anteros Arts Centre is next to the King of Hearts on Magdalen Street, Norwich – click here for a map. Doors open 17:30 and the debate will begin at 18:00.
